Mexico´s Magic Towns
While making plans to visit the tourist areas of Mexico, do not forget to take into account the Magic Towns. Pueblos Mágicos (Magic Towns) was a program launched 16 years ago to promote and recognize the cities that still preserve our cultural wealth, whether due to the strong influence of the indigenous past or the legacy of colonial Spain.
Magic towns are locations where time seems to have stopped, villages surrounded by contrasting landscapes such as valleys, mountains, rivers, forests, jungles. Many cities have become the cradle for painters, poets, intellectuals and creative artists, several foreigners who have established their residence there, which give each town an interesting cultural dynamic.
Magic Towns are perfect places to walk through its cobbled streets and find unique pieces of art or to enjoy annual themed events as Music, Art, Wine or Film Festivals.
While planning to visit Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Cancun and Riviera Maya, remember that besides their natural beauties and fun activities, have, just a few miles away, some Magic Towns worth to visit and discover its charm, to mention a few: Todos Santos in Los Cabos, San Sebastían and Mascota in Puerto Vallarta, Jala in Riviera Nayarit and Tulum, Bacalar and Isla Mujeres when visiting Cancun or Riviera Maya.
